Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds tail-on shrimp 16 to 20 count, peeled and deveined, defrosted if frozen
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup white wine or vermouth
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes or more/less to taste

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until foamy and light brown (keep an eye on this - you don't want the butter to brown too quickly and burn).
  • Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the shrimp and cook for 3 minutes, turning frequently.
  • Add the white wine (or vermouth) and lemon juice and cook until the liquid evaporates and the shrimp is opaque and cooked through. Season the shrimp with salt and black pepper.
  • Top the shrimp with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes and serve.
