Heat the oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until no longer pink, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
Add the onion and garlic and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until the vegetables soften.
Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, basil, and paprika and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Note, if the mixture thickens more than desired, add a little water. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
