12ouncescodor any white fish, cut into 2-inch pieces
1cupfresh or frozen corn kernelskept frozen until ready to use

Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large stock pot or saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the white part of the green onions and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until soft. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the flour and stir to coat.
Add the half-and-half, broth, potatoes, thyme, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the cod and corn and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, until the potatoes are fork-tender and the fish is cooked through. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
Ladle the soup into bowls and top with the green portion of the green onions and bacon.
