Instructions
Brown the beef in a large saucepan over medium-high heat, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until soft.
Add the Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute, until the herbs are fragrant.
Add the broth and tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Stir in the orzo pasta. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 9 to 11 minutes, until the pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Ladle the mixture into bowls and top with parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.
