2cupsfresh broccoli floretsblanched or steamed until crisp-tender, or frozen broccoli, thawed
2cupscooked rice of choice
2tablespoonstoasted sesame seeds* for serving
Chopped green onions for serving
Instructions
In a small bowl, whisk together the broth (or water) soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Set aside.
Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking up the meat as it cooks. Add the soy sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
Add the broccoli to the beef and cook for 1 to 2 minutes to heat through.
Spoon the beef mixture over the rice and top with sesame seeds and green onions.
*You can find toasted sesame seeds next to the regular sesame seeds in the spice aisle. If you’d rather toast them yourself, add the raw seeds to a dry skillet and set the pan over medium heat. Cook until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes, shaking the pan frequently.
