chili crisp chicken thighs

The commingling of spicy chili crisp with honey creates the most incredible glaze for this chicken! This gorgeous sheet pan meal features moist chicken thighs that are spicy, nutty, and subtly sweet. And the dish is made with 4 ingredients and ready in about 30 minutes!

Chili crisp is the star of the show here! There’s so much flavor and texture in one jar of chili crisp – spicy chilies, fermented soybeans, onion, and delicious chili-infused oil. I added honey and mirin to balance the salty and spicy qualities in the chili crisp and it was the perfect marriage of flavors. That also means this is a 3-ingredient glaze!

You can also make this recipe with chicken breasts! I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs, but chicken breasts – bone-in and boneless – also work. If you choose to use bone-in chicken (thighs or breasts), add a few minutes to the cooking time. Fully cooked chicken will read 165 degrees on a meat thermometer.

What should you serve with your honey-chili crisp chicken? I served fluffy rice and sautéed snap peas on the side, but you can add anything you want to this fabulous meal. Asian noodles (tossed with sesame oil) would make a great side dish too. As would any steamed, roasted, or raw vegetables you have handy!
