Burgers with Spicy Special Sauce

These juicy burgers are topped with the most incredible, fiery-sweet special sauce. Imagine taking your favorite fast food burger sauce and kicking it up a notch! You'll want to spoon this sauce over everything!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or 4 pre-shaped store-bought burger patties
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet relish or diced sweet gherkins
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or more/less to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat a large skillet, stove-top grill pan, or outdoor grill to medium-high.
  • Season both sides of the burgers with salt and pepper and add to the hot pan/grill. Cook until you reach your desired doneness (130-135 degrees for medium-rare).
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, ketchup, relish, and cayenne pepper. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Serve the burgers with the special sauce on the side.
