Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/4 pounds skinless boneless chicken breasts or chicken thighs
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • Chopped fresh parsley for serving optional

Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season both sides of the chicken with the parsley, basil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the chicken to the pan and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  • Add the BBQ sauce and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through (165 degrees). Note that thicker chicken breasts and chicken thighs will take slightly longer to cook.
  • Top with parsley (if using) and serve.
